Excellence is
knowing
when
to be perfect.

My favorite
Winston Churchill
quote:

"Never give in.
Never give in.

Never. Never.
Never. Never.

In nothing -
great or small,
large or petty.

Never give in.

Except to convictions
of honor
and good sense."

Delivered to
his alma mater,
Harrow,
in October 1941

"It's ok to look back
at your past.

Only don't stare!"

from Rose Marie's brother
What do you want to happen when you have your meeting?

YOU WANT YOUR MEETING
TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Your attendees go away happy.

You get congratulations.

You advance in your career.

And that is what I want for you. I have also planned events - and had things go very well. You're right, some of my lessons learned have been tough ones when things get raggedy. My conference planning has been for up to 1,000 and my workshop sessions for 15 to 100 - dozens of them.

I became known as the education Admiral because we held so many sessions to improve the skills of our Officers. When I became more senior my attention shifted to doing the speaking that needed to be done - while taking the pulse of the planning. The Leader-Planner-Speaker needs to have a rich command of content, communications, and contingencies. And, of course, a heavy component of many of my speeches was motivation. Much of the job of an Admiral is ceremonial, motivational, and leadership-centric.

I have done 10 minute pepper-uppers at 7:00am,
25 minute keynotes,
2 hour break out sessions,
4 hour workshops, and
2 day seminars - single handed.

I have the flexibility of mind and delivery to maintain the timing, variety, and judgement of pace that holds audiences. I am a glib quick-thinker as an MC. Over my speech-lover's lifetime I have made close to 2,000 presentations.

I have the skills and the broad content to deliver an excellent speaking presence. Every day I add to my mental reserves and maintain current awareness of human development themes. My habit pattern for years has been to sleep from 9pm to 3am and then, in the early morning undisturbed hours, "do" a book. That is "mine" it for the nuggets of wisdom that I can store in my associative memory to bring out in my speeches - when the atmosphere is right and the listeners need them.

Every one of my speeches is customized to the needs of the audience - as expressed by the meeting planner. We are partners in the "show." And we both want the show to be a hit!

I don't just talk about someone else's theories on leadership - I have been there, done that. Real experience with real situations with real people. Not abstract, not simulated, not virtual - real.

I'm a 3 dimensional -
6th sense speaker

Part of being a riveting speaker is to know that all the senses are alive. All the dimensions can be used. Time and space combined with energy and authenticity - a recipe for success.

Let's talk about what you need.

FROM FREE TO FEE

What's my fee? That depends on the nature of the audience, the size, the place, and the sponsor. If I'm giving a Navy recruiting speech to a young local audience there is no charge. Is the meeting for a volunteer group or a charity? No fee.

I love giving speeches in any case but especially in uniform. Then you will see what "Admiral RED, WHITE and BLUE." really means.

For speeches to and for profit makers - we can talk about the value, the expectation, the advantage to you - and the cost. Poke around in this web site to learn more about me.

Put your ideas down in the e-mail page and send it to me.
